T-Mobile UK are bringing their name (and distinctive hue) to a couple of new prepay handsets, with a reveal of the Vairy Text and Vairy Touch II.



A revamped and rebranded Alcatel OT-800, the T-Mobile Vairy Text aims to scratch that budget BlackBerry itch with an affordable phone that still packs a full QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, Facebook integration and motion sensor gaming.



Having had a little play we think that it is more than capable for the basic user, with nicely spaced keys and a clear and simple user interface.

It won’t topple the Bold 9700 any time soon as connectivity champion, but the Vairy Text is sure to sell well in the sub-£50, prepay market it is aimed at.



T-Mobile’s Vairy Touch II looks to be a follow-up in name only, with this touchscreen sequel looking altogether more svelte, gorgeous and…current than the phone released in Q1 last year.

Inspired in equal parts by the iPhone and LG Arena, this diminutive device appealed almost instantly with its curved edges, minimalist design and large, vivid display.

Less was divulged regarding the Vairy Touch II’s vital statistics, and despite it currently sporting a ZTE logo, we were assured that the Vairy Touch II will be emblazoned in full T-Mobile livery before release.

It was inspiring to see T-Mobile were equally committed to bringing quality devices to the prepay sector, as well as delivering the latest in smartphone tech to their pay monthly customers.
