The European Commission has approved the UK merger of the two mobile operators. The transaction is set to complete this Spring, where we’ll still see the two brands on the shelves, but there’ll be one back office and one network servicing the two.
That’ll be the case for at least 18 months, when the joint venture between Deutsche Telecom and France Telecom will likely complete the process by rebranding itself into one entity. The UK has a new market share leader, will that force O2 to become a bit more competitive to keep it’s customers onbaord?
